We advise the Belgian Blue Breeders to carefully read the information presented on this web. The information should help you to choose the bull best suited for your breeding program.

The bulls are picked in function of their ascendance and their zootechnical qualities. A rigorous inspection of all their offspring is in place for all bulls bought by the Al Center.

The Progeny test is based on the inspection of all offspring of the 600 first inseminations of the bull on test.

A first inspection is done at birth, recording the gestation length, weight and conformation.

A second inspection of all offspring, males and females, is done at 13 months of age.

The features identified are: weight, height, market value (expressed in euros per kg)

Linear classifications are carried out on farm on all the females bet­ween 15 and 56 months of age.'

The data published is calculated and authorised by the Herd-book BBB for the indices of 1st and 2nd visit and by the AWE asbl for linear classifications.

The mandate of the breeder is to choose the right bull for the right cow to enhance his breeding program main objectives. We hope that the information presented on this web site will be the right tool to identify the top breeding bull that will just do that.
